Congratulations Montannah and Hollie!
Beef Team Member Becomes Youngest Woman to Summit Kilimanjaro
At seven years old, Montannah Kenney has already accomplished a feat most adults only dream about: climbing to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro.
In fact, she broke a world record in the process, becoming the youngest woman in history to climb Kilimanjaro, the tallest mountain on the African continent.
Both Montannah and her mom, Hollie, are Beef Team members, a group of fitness enthusiasts supported by Beef Loving Texans and 130,000 cattle farmers and ranchers across the Lone Star State. Hollie is also the Beef Loving Texans Beef Team volunteer coordinator.
All smiles and full of heart, Montannah joined her mother, who happens to be a former professional triathlete competitor, on a journey that would take them more than 19,000 feet above sea level over the course of six and a half days. Montannah said her motivation came from wanting to be closer to her dad in heaven, who passed away when Montannah was three years old.
We are so proud of her incredible strength and perseverance, and we can’t wait to see what this girl accomplishes. Congratulations, Montannah!
