Locke Family Chicken Fried Steak

Texas comfort on a plate: tenderized round or cube steaks double-dredged, fried golden in canola oil and rested for a crisp, juicy finish. Serve with mashed potatoes and white gravy for full down-home satisfaction.

Preparation

  1. Step 1

    Cut 3 lbs. steak into six slices and tenderize or use tenderized steak.

  2. Step 2

    Mix together flour, salt and pepper and set aside.

  3. Step 3

    Combine milk and eggs; whisk.

  4. Step 4

    Coat both sides of steak with flour mixture.Dip coated meat in egg/milk mixture. Again coat both sides of steak with flour mixture.

  5. Step 5

    Heat olive oil. Drop coated steak into hot oil. Fry until golden brown on both sides, approximately 4-5 mins per side.

  6. Step 6

    Rest steak on paper towel.
