A Step by Step Guide to Skillet-to-Oven Beef

Step: 01: Preheat oven
Preheat oven to 350°F. -
Step: 02: Season steaks
Season steaks on both sides. -
Step: 03: Heat skillet
Heat skillet on stovetop to medium heat. -
Step: 04: Sear steaks
Sear steaks for 1 minute per side. This will lock in all those delicious juices. -
Step: 05: Cook in oven
Cook steaks in oven until internal temperature reaches 145°F for medium rare. -
Step: 06: Let it rest
Rest steaks on a cutting board for 3 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute for the best tasting steak around. -
Step: 07: Slice
Slice steaks against the grain.
Tips
Use your favorite steak rub or keep it simple with salt and pepper. Your skillet is hot enough when you hear a sizzle when the steak touches the skillet’s surface. Check out our doneness chart to learn more about your preferences. The steak’s internal temperature continues to rise during resting. -
