Introduction
Texas Beef Council is proud to announce its new statewide search for the Beef Loving Texans’ Best Butcher in Texas. Applications for the contest have closed. A grand prize of $5,000 will be awarded to the winner.
In an ode to the art of butchery, we’re looking for the best of the best throughout Texas to showcase their craft in this competition, which will also explore the different aspects of beef butchery that make it a key element in Texas’ cultural heritage. Contestants will have the opportunity to win cash prizes, score some major bragging rights and travel to different parts of the state.
Contest Dates & Details
The deadline has passed to enter the 2017 Beef Loving Texans’ Best Butcher in Texas contest. The locations and dates of the regional semifinal rounds are as follows:
- Houston: Saturday, March 4
- Dallas: Saturday, March 18
- San Antonio: Saturday, April 1
The Beef Loving Texans’ Best Butcher in Texas final competition will be held Saturday, April 29 at the Austin Food + Wine Festival.
